Steve Phillips and the Rough Diamonds

Published Date: 01 May 2009

Steve PhilipsAlthough rugby is now finished for the season at Silver Royd there will still be plenty of entertainment at the JM Guthrie clubhouse.
Several social events plus the British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa which will be shown on the big screens should keep the facility busy.

And of course this year’s Sevens rugby tournament will be held at Silver Royd on Saturday August 8.

Further use of the Silver Royd corporate facilities sees the appearance of star blues guitarist Steve Phillips and the Rough Diamonds.

Steve, who played with Mark Knopfler in his Leeds days in the late 1960s and with Brendan Croker and Knopfler in the supergroup Notting Hillbillies in the 1980s now lives in North Yorkshire and has been dubbed the ‘greatest blues guitarist in Europe’ by Blueprint Magazine.

He will be live in the Qdos suite at the club on Friday May 15 at 7.30pm.

Advance tickets at £8 from Mojo’s Café 18 Northway Scarborough or on the door on the night at £10 subject to availability.
